Telephone box in the middle of nowhere

This lonely pay phone box was once working. It has spent decades in the middle of nowhere. No one knows the reason why was it set up here. It also had its own number (760) 733 - 9969. The nearest paved road is about 6 miles away from the box. Campers who were nearby answered the phone that was ringing in the box, either accidentally or intentionally. The calls came from all parts of the world. You could comfortably call any number from this box.

You shouldn’t waste your time by calling this number today because the National Park Service decided to disable it. According to some stories, it was placed here so that the local miners can have contact with the world. In 2000, the box even appeared in a movie made by an unnamed author. Also, this is the year when the telephone box was finally removed.
