Atlantic Yard - New York, USA
This mega structure will perhaps see the light of day after many years of complications caused by the global economic crisis. The main architect of this building is Frank Gehry. This, $ 4 billion building, should have 31 200 square meters of office space, and 591 000 square meters of living space. It is also the future home to New York’s basketball team and it should be completed by the end of 2012.
Chicago Spire - Chicago, USA
Work on this building started in 2007. But the project of building the largest residential tower in the world stopped after the impact of the global economic crisis. But Garrett Keleher and chief architect, Santiago Kalatraja, remained optimistic and hoped that this project will be completed. However, the Chicago Association of Architects has launched a competition to build a facility that should be raised in a place where the foundations of this failed project lye.
Elbe Philharmonic - Hamburg, Germany
The new home of German Philharmonic Orchestra turned out to be ironic, extravagant project. The building exterior is supposed to resemble the classic department stores from the 60s, with undulating levels within the building. However, the cost of the construction (together with the accompanying deluxe hotel and apartments) has grown from the original 313 million in 2007 to over 500 million dollars. The opening was delayed for two years. The next is scheduled for 2012.
The Shard - London, England
Construction of the first London skyscraper, which is supposed to be higher than 984 feet, was initiated last year. The project was proposed twenty years ago and it was an ambitious mix of offices, hotels and apartments. However, it almost always met political and economic barriers, primarily because of its location. Specifically, this tower should be built in the historic part of London. However, as things stand now, it seems that this tower, that should overshadow the London Bridge, will open in the future.
Maxi, the National Museum of 21st Century Art - Rome, Italy
After 11 years of designing and building, the curators in the Museum of Contemporary Art can finally think about the settings in this museum. Many admire the architecture that "defies gravity", and experts say that this building should be a real architectural spectacle. We can hardly wait for a day when the museum opens.

That National Museum of Rome kinda reminded me of my makati city office space. I love the structure. It's very modern and sophisticated.
These types of buildings will definitely change the feel of the surroundings which is great. Thanks.
