Do you have an extra $ 800,000? Why don’t you buy a whole village in New Zealand ?

Why spend a million dollars for a house in Sydney, when you can have the whole village in New Zealand for less money? Otira, a small town in the southern Alps of New Zealand, is on the market for a sum of 817,060 dollars. Current owners Bill and Kristina Henah, bought it in 1998 after they visited it.

They paid $ 65,000 for a hotel, school, railway station, city hall and 18 houses. The couple, who are now in their sixties, are asking 285,000$ for the hotel or $ 800,000 for the entire "farm". Otira has a population of 40 inhabitants and is located in the middle of a national park which is on the west coast of the South Island.
