This recently discovered unseen footage shows the first mobile phone in the world – it is from 1922. Activists of British Pathe (multimedia archive of historical films) said that they have accidentally found silent film called "The wireless panel" in their archives and simply could not believe what they saw.
Video shows two women in New York carrying a large device, which is then connected with a water hydrant via a long cable. They then rise up an umbrella, which serves as an antenna, and begin to establish a connection. Video then shows their conversation with the operator who plays music using a gramophone.

Mark Harris from Pathe, said: "It's amazing that nearly 90 years ago mobile phones and music in it were not just thoughts put on paper, there were actually some prototypes"
"One of our researchers, who looked at the footage, was stunned, as were we by the fact that this idea is so old although we know that this technology flourished in the '50s and '60s. This happened four years before the television was shown to the public. Phone had a cover that is a precursor to today's clamshell”
The film is still a mystery because you can find only the name on the cover of the film, and any information on this recording would be very useful.
