The company "Atkins Architecture" has recently received an award for the design of resorts in Songjiang China which is called the Waterworld. This company is famous for the multinational engineering projects and design consulting and they do business primarily in the Middle East and India.
This aqua world was built in a magnificent quarry which was filled with water and it represents a perfect combination of nature and modern design. A hotel with 400 rooms was built in the center of this masterpiece. The resort has unique underwater rooms, restaurants, cafes, sports facilities and much more.
At the lowest level there is a luxurious pool and next to it there is also an extreme sports center where you can find a climbing wall and a bungee! If you want make a bungee jump, you use a special lift that comes out of the water to get you to the top. As you can see from these spectacular views of the city, the project certainly deserves all the glory and honor which it won.

This is the first time that I have heard of a resort that was built in a quarry. The place looks wonderful! You gotta love the creativity of the Chinese.

This is pretty spectacular especially if you take into account how this quarry would have looked like if these facilities weren't built into it.
