New York - the city that never sleeps

Last week, the Wall Street Journal sent a bunch of photographers to take some pictures of what is happening on the streets of New York deep into the night while almost the whole town is asleep. But even at those hours, some parts of the city were filled with activity - people were delivering newspapers, police officers were patrolling the streets, night birds were coming out of bars and some street vendors were setting up their stands. This gallery shows people who are awake when most citizens are not.
