Kamchatka is a 776 miles long peninsula in the Russian Far East. It has an area of 182,356 square miles. It lies between the Pacific Ocean in the east and the Okhotsk Sea in west. Near the coast of the peninsula along the Pacific Ocean we can find a 34,448 feet deep Kuril-Kamchatka trench.

There are 402,500 inhabitants and most of them are Russians, but there are about 13,000 Korjaks. More than half of the entire population lives in Petrovopavlovsk Kamchatsky (192,028 inhabitants) and Jelizov (41,533).
