One Indian is proud of his 12 fingers on hands and other 14 on legs and it may be included in the Guinness Book of Records. Ashok Haramb Kumthekar never in that their "surplus" looked like a handicap.He is currently the unofficial record holder and only man alive with so many fingers in the world, however, he don't hold the Guinness record, as is his compatriot Devendra Harn was born with 12 fingers on hands and 13 on the legs.
Some of his fingers are connected to each other and can not be counted as separate. However, it was added to Limca Book of Records as the equivalent of Guinness for India.
His "disease" is caused by medical condition known as "polydactyism" which in Greek means "many fingers". Although operating as separate, and they have separate bones, not all the nerve endings so they can not move separately.
Although Haramb proud of it, he admits that sometimes it can also bring problems, especially when finding a shoe or gloves.
