The largest glass building in the world

Crystal Cathedral is a Protestant "mega church" in Garden Grove in Orange County, California. The building was designed by the architect Philip Johnson, and it was built by using over 10,000 rectangular glasses and it can accommodate 2900 worshipers.

Rectangular glass was not embedded in the structure, but adhered to it using a silicone-based adhesive. This all is supposed to enable the building to withstand an earthquake of 8 degrees magnitude.

The name "Crystal Cathedral" describes the size of the building and its appearance and it is not a cathedral in the true sense of the word – the bishop does not have duties here.
