Ganesh is the god of wisdom, abundance and happiness. The main celebration is held in Mumbai.

In the center of Mumbai, a fairy tale ceremony is held to mark the birthday of the God of wisdom, Ganesh. It is attended by thousands of pilgrims.

The most striking sight was the ritual of submerging the clay statues of Ganesh in the Arabian Sea.

This is a very important national holiday for all Indians and it is celebrated in the month of Bhadra (August-September), during which the streets of Mumbai dance and sing for 11 days.

This year's festival was attended by approximately six thousand volunteers and more than 500 rescue workers and guards.

All the previously mentioned carefully watch the locals during the massive street celebrations and ritual immersions in order to avoid unpleasant incidents.

The festival is so popular in India that the preparations begin at least a month earlier.

For this holiday, the whole country prepares clay figurines of the god Ganesh.

After the prayer, worship and a short ceremony of forgiveness, the figures are put in water until they melt.
