The place where Nessie lives ... Lake Loch Ness in Scotland

Loch Ness is a large and deep freshwater lake in the Scottish hills that is located about 22 miles southwest of Inverness. It stands at 50 feet above sea level, and Loch Ness is best known for the alleged, “Loch Ness monster", also known as Nessie. The lake is very murky because of large amounts of silt, peat and mud, and it may perhaps be one of the reasons why the monster hasn’t been found yet.

Loch Ness is the second largest lake in Scotland with an area of 22 square miles, immediately after Loch Lomond. Due to its great depth, Loch Ness is one of the deepest in Scotland. In some places it reaches a depth of 755 feet and the only deeper lake is Loch Morar. It contains more fresh water than all lakes in England and Wales combined.
